Lehigh Claims 10th Straight Meeting of The Rivalry

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's track and field team earned the 106-75 victory over Lafayette on Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse, in the Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute. Ten athletes earned PRs across all event groups.

"I'm very, very proud of what we've done," said head coach Khayla Atte. "We have a lot of really strong first-years, they really showed up. We also did something we haven't done before - every coach put their own entries and I agreed. I trust my gut, I believe in the athletes and I believe in my coaches the same way.

"One thing I said to the team in a meeting the other day was 'How many of you have come into a practice or meet feeling great and then performed horribly? How many of you have come into a meet feeling bad and then surprised yourself with how great you did?' The constant is your performance - that you had to compete. The feelings are always going to change, so you have to be focused on the competition."

THROWS:
Three Mountain Hawks picked up PRs in the weight throw, with junior Liam Lovering leading the way with a PR and an improvement on his third place all-time mark (17.95m). Junior Ethan McHugh claimed third with his PR (14.82m), while fellow junior Sharan Shankar Took sixth (13.15m). Lovering swept the throws, winning shot put with a distance of 16.41m.
