Mountain Hawks fifth in preseason poll

The Mountain Hawks are led by senior Ryan Lloyd, a 2006 All-Patriot League performer and fellow co-captain senior Alfredo Fernandez-Concha. Lehigh returns eight players from a year ago, but will have to make up for the loss of former all-league performer Randall Smalley to graduation. The Brown and White finished 13-7 last year and qualified for the Patriot League tournament for the first time since 2001.
Defending tournament champion Army was voted into the top spot as the Black Knights garnered nine of a possible 14 first place votes and 69 points overall. Navy was selected second, with the other five first place votes. Bucknell, Colgate and Lehigh hold down spots three through five with the three schools separated by just two points. Lafayette and Holy Cross hold down the final two spots.
The format of the Patriot League Tournament has changed this season. All seven teams will qualify for the three-day event, which will be hosted by Navy April 28-30.
Lehigh will open the 2007 spring season on Saturday, January 20 when they visit Brown. The match gets underway at 3:00 pm from
