Mountain Hawks Sweep Lafayette 4-0 To Claim Fifth Patriot League Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis welcomed rival Lafayette to the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon for The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute. The Mountain Hawks swept the Leopards 4-0 to claim their fifth Patriot League win of the season.

Lehigh (12-8, 5-1 PL) currently sits in second place in the Patriot League standings with only one regular season match to go. The Mountain Hawks bested Lafayette (4-10, 1-5 PL) in doubles competition beginning with a 6-3 win from Wyeth Anzilotti and Henry Stoller on court two. Rafael Gracie and Kosei Ogata's 6-4 win on court three secured the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks.

Stoller got things started in singles play for the Mountain Hawks with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over John Dickens at number four. Van Lumich was next, earning a two-set victory over Ricardo Espaillat at number one to put the Mountain Hawks within one win of the clinch. Benedict Horn-Bourque's 6-4, 6-2 victory on court five over Niko Martirossian secured the sweep for Lehigh.

Singles matches on courts two, three, and six were left unfinished.

The Mountain Hawks will play their final regular season dual of the season on Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts against Bucknell on Senior Day.
