Lehigh Rolls The Leopards 111-88 In The Rivalry

EASTON, Pa. - The Lehigh men's track and field team defeated Lafayette 111-89 on Saturday in Easton. Across men's track and field and cross country, the Mountain Hawks swept Lafayette 3-0 in the 2023-24 meetings of The Rivalry.

SPRINTS/HURDLES
The Mountain Hawks took third and fourth in the 100m, as Jonathan Bennett (11.31) and Aiden DiBuono (11.46) picked up a total of three points. Lehigh took second, third and fourth in the 200m, led by first-year Perry Addey's time of 23.27. Addey picked up his first collegiate win in the 400m, clocking in at 50.72 and first-year Logan Haverkamp took third with a PR of 51.88.

In the 110m hurdles, Nathan Oliphant earned his first win as a Mountain Hawk with a sub-15 PR of 14.94, while Dan Stipanov followed behind in second with 15.03. Junior Patrez Thomas won the 400m hurdles with 55.40.Â

THROWS
Lehigh won three out of the four throwing events, starting off with Wil Jaques winning the javelin throw with 58.23m and Greg Stagliano claiming second with a throw of 55.41m.

Liam Lovering took first place in the discus with a throw of 43.96m and Jaques followed behind in second with 40.80m, good for three points. Sophomore Joe Nowakowski earned his first collegiate victory in the shot put with a winning throw of 14.99m and Lovering earned second with 14.62m. In the hammer throw, Achilles Mouzakis took second with a PR and fourth all-time mark of 56.21m.Â

JUMPS
Skyler Mott won the high jump with a mark of 1.88m and Eli Aaronson claimed two points with a third place mark of 1.78m. In the pole vault, Jack Murphy took third with a PR of 4.40m.

The Mountain Hawks took first and second in the long jump as Andrew Clark earned his first collegiate win with a PR of 6.22. Mulenga Malama followed behind in second with a distance of 6.13m, good for three points. In the triple jump, Daniel Givens took home the win with 13.26m and Malama tallied one point with a mark of 12.57m.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
Sophomore Alex Heidemann earned the victory and a PR in the 800m, crossing the finish in 1:54.96, with Aidan Lynch taking third (1:57.73). Heidemann also won the 1500m with 4:04.91 and Daniel Malatesta finished behind in second with 4:05.82.Â

In the 3000m steeple, Adam Barbato placed first with 9:44.36 and Max Leffler picked up two points with a third place finish of 9:53.08. Lehigh took second, third and fifth in the 5000m, led by Kevin Harvey's second place finish of 15:29.82.

Lehigh is back in action with the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell, April 12-14.
