Three Mountain Hawks Land on CSC Academic All-District Track and Field Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three members of the Lehigh track and field program were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced Tuesday. Recent graduates Corinn Brewer, Laura Reigle and Joseph Nowakowski were Lehigh's honorees.

All three Mountain Hawks were named to Academic All-Patriot League teams following both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. Reigle is now a three-time Academic All-District honoree while Nowakowski is recognized for the second consecutive year.

Brewer graduated with a 4.0 GPA in architecture, earning a perfect GPA in all six semesters on campus.
On the track, Brewer earned a bronze medal at the outdoor Patriot League Championships in the heptathlon, scoring 4863 points. She won a Patriot League title in the indoor pentathlon during the winter season.

Reigle was a six-time Academic All-Patriot League honoree and graduated with a 3.85 GPA in design. Lehigh's Graduating Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winner at the year-end honors Convocation, Reigle was a five-time Patriot League Champion in the pole vault. During the outdoor season Reigle became the first Patriot League pole vaulter to win three outdoor titles.

Nowakowski is a three-time Academic All-Patriot League selection, who graduated with a 3.92 in philosophy. He had 4.0 GPAs in four of his eight semesters on campus. At the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, Nowakowski finished sixth in the shot put and 15th in the hammer throw. He won the shot put in four different outdoor meets this spring.

The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances academically and athletically. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and be a starter or key reserve. For cross country and track and field, certain regional and/or national rankings must be met to garner consideration.
