BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis fall season rolls on this weekend, as the Mountain Hawks are set to travel to West Point, N.Y. for the Army Shootout on September 15-17. This trip comes off the heels of Lehigh's fall season opener at the Villanova Invitational last weekend, where the Mountain Hawks competed until inclement weather forced the event to be shut down early.
The Mountain Hawks will join Holy Cross, Rider, FDU, Sacred Heart, Hofstra, and two Army teams (Gold and Black) this weekend. The format of the Shootout will differ from last weekend's events, as Lehigh will play six singles matches against their opponents and three matches for doubles play.
Lehigh will begin their weekend against Holy Cross on Friday, taking on the Crusaders in singles play at approximately 3 p.m. The Mountain Hawks will then square off against Army Gold at 5 p.m. in doubles play.
On Saturday, Lehigh begins the day by taking on FDU in doubles at 10 a.m. followed by another doubles tilt at 11:30 a.m. against Hofstra. The Mountain Hawks will conclude the day by taking on Hofstra in singles at 2 p.m.
The Mountain Hawks will open the final day of tennis from the Army Shootout at 10 a.m. on Sunday in doubles against Sacred Heart followed by singles against Army Black at 11:30 a.m. to conclude their weekend.
Lehigh competed last weekend at the Villanova Invitational, where the Mountain Hawks faced teams from Colgate, Loyola, Bucknell, Saint Joseph's, and Villanova. Eight different Mountain Hawks competed before play was suspended on Sunday due to inclement weather.
