
Men's Tennis looks to continue its hot start against Drexel on Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fresh off another dominant performance last weekend against Siena, the Lehigh men's tennis team (2-0) returns to action on Saturday. This time, Lehigh will welcome in the Drexel Dragons for an 11:00 a.m. showdown.
With a win over Drexel on Saturday, Lehigh would be 3-0 for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
LAST TIME OUT
For the second consecutive match, the Brown and White held all the control against the Saints of Siena. Lehigh started by taking all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. In singles, the Mountain Hawks won all six matches to secure the easy victory, 7-0. With the win, Lehigh improved to 2-0 on the season, marking its best start since the 2015-16 season.

"I thought we put forward a focused effort and played well all throughout the match against Siena," expressed head coach Wouter Hendrix. "We're learning and we're growing as a team, and we're excited for the opportunity to host Drexel."
ZACK ATTACK
Sophomore Zack Elliott has been on a tear to begin the season. The sophomore has now been named honorable mention by the Patriot League in back-to-back weeks. Elliott is a combined 4-0 in the top spot in singles and doubles. Both of his wins in singles came in straight sets.
SOARING MOUNTAIN HAWKS
Through its first two challenges this season in Saint Francis and Siena, Lehigh has won 17 of the 18 matches, while winning all 12 singles matches so far.

Drexel comes into Bethlehem with an 0-3 mark to its name, dropping bouts to Princeton, St. John's and Penn. In their last match against Penn, the Dragons took two doubles matches to obtain the doubles point, however fell in all singles matches. Xandy Hammitt and Sail Jagtiani are the top players for the Dragons.

Last year in Bethlehem, the Dragons came to town and escaped with a win, 4-3. Lehigh tallied the doubles point with two wins but couldn't get three more wins in singles to win. In the top spot last year, Harry Wang defeated his opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

After the completed match against Drexel on Saturday, the Mountain Hawks will embark on their first road trip of the season. Next weekend, Lehigh will play at Villanova and Delaware on back-to-back days.
