BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh track and field programs are set to head to Bucknell this Friday evening for the Bucknell Tune-Up, which will serve as the final competition before the Patriot League Indoor Championships next weekend.

The Mountain Hawks will be among five teams competing at the meet along with Bloomsburg, Shippensburg, Gettysburg and the host Bison. The action will get underway at 5 p.m. with the field events, and the 60m hurdle trials will kick off the track events beginning at 6 p.m.

The meet will serve as the final chance for athletes to improve their marks and seedings within the league ahead of next Saturday's championships. Entering this weekend, Lehigh's men have six rankings in the top five in the league in track events this season with Matt Kravitz in the mile (5th/4:08.52) and Jeffrey Kirshenbaum in the 3,000m (4th/8:15.07), both of which were set at the Villanova Open. Kirshenbaum (4th/14:39.53) is joined in the top five of the 5,000m run by teammate Patrick Reilly, who ranks third in the 5K (14:35.01). Senior Trevor Knowles ranks number two in the league with his school record of 8.15 seconds in the 60m hurdles and holds the 17th ranked heptathlon in the entire country (5,596).

Over in the field events, Ryan Givens is in the top five in two different events after clearing 2.05m in the high jump at the Lehigh Season Opener, which ranks third in the PL, and sits fifth in the long jump at 6.96m.

On the women's side, five athletes have top five performances on the track this year with Brooke Schaeffer holding two of them in the 500m (4th/1:15.12) and the 800m (5th/2:13.05). Clare Severe ranks fourth in the 800m (2:12.04) and third in the mile (4:51.75- school record) and Ashleigh Crawford is currently fifth in the league in the 3,000m (9:53.54). In the field events, seven more top five marks are owned by Mountain Hawks, including Jordan Otto, who holds the top high jump in the league at 1.70m, and is followed closely by Tyler Banister at No. 5 (1.65m). Sophomore Kaitlyn Toman's school pole vault record of 3.75m is tops in the league, with freshman Madisyn Hawkins right behind her at 1.70m, good for third in the PL. Amanda Youngblood sits fourth in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put, while freshman Brittany Curtin ranks third in the league in the weight throw at 16.73m.
