Lehigh Caps Opening Weekend with Victory

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks closed out their season opening weekend home stand with a 4-3 victory over Saint Francis Sunday inside Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh captured its first win of the season to improve to 1-1, as the Red Flash falls to 0-4.

After earning a victory by forfeit at the third doubles spot, Lehigh went on to clinch the doubles point as Christina Auyeung and Casey Zhong captured their first victory of the season with a 7-5 win at the first flight.

The Mountain Hawks also had a leg up as Saint Francis forfeited the sixth singles spot. Sibel Can clinched the win as she defeated Lucia Seigford in three sets for her first win of the season. Auyeung ended the weekend with a 2-0 record as she won in straight sets at the first flight.

Lehigh will return to the courts Saturday to face Villanova at 10 a.m. inside Lewis Tennis Center.
