LEWISBURG, Pa. - Boston University defeated Lehigh 4-0 Saturday morning in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals. With the win, the Terriers advance to the Patriot League championship match.
"A 0–4 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was. We had a few courts that were right there and could have shifted things. I'm really proud of the way we competed," head coach Sophia Geier said. "More importantly, I'm very happy with how we finished the season. This group showed a lot of growth, resilience and commitment to each other."
For the Mountain Hawks, its season comes to a close with a 9-13 overall record and a 4-3 mark in regular-season league play.
Boston University secured the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 3. On court No. 2, Maggie Forkner and Alina Shyani were tied with Madison Liu and Blanka DeMicheli 4-4 before play was halted due to the outcome of the other matches.
For singles play, BU won the matches on courts No. 4,5,6 to clinch the 4-0 win and advance to the finals.
