Lehigh Opens Fall Schedule by Hosting the Lehigh Hidden Duals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's tennis began its fall season by hosting the Lehigh Hidden Duals. The Mountain Hawks welcomed Seton Hall, Lafayette and Marist to the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts on Lehigh's Goodman Campus.
"Proud of the way this team competed all weekend. We saw a lot of energy, fight, and growth across the lineup, and it was especially exciting to see our first years make their first tournament appearances and step into the moment. They competed with confidence and showed that they belong. Huge shoutout to Alina Shyani for an incredible weekend and staying undefeated throughout the tournament. A great weekend of competing, learning, and continuing to build this team together!" said head coach Sophia Geier.
In singles competition, Lehigh earned seven victories across the weekend. Shyani led the way with three wins, defeating Seton Hall's Imogen Broker 6-2, 6-4 in the opening round, Marist's Viktoria Lorentzon 6-2, 6-4 in the second round and Seton Hall's Ellie Coe 6-0 in the final round. Lena Dogadalski, Claire Macedo, Gabby David and Audrey Harrington each added one victory, with Dogadalski defeating Marist's Lola Ungerman 7-5, 6-2, Macedo topping Marist's Yasmin Asnis 6-0, 6-2, David defeating Marist's Tessa Wachtel 7-5, 6-3 and Harrington earning a 6-4, 6-3 win over Marist's Janey Wright.
In doubles competition, Lehigh earned six victories across the weekend. Claire Macedo and Ronit Khromchenko and Alina Shyani and Audrey David each picked up wins in the opening round, with Macedo and Khromchenko earning a 6-0 victory and Shyani and David posting a 6-1 win. DeVaul, Macedo, Shyani and Khromchenko each added victories in the third round, with DeVaul winning 8-1, Macedo 8-6, Shyani 8-1 and Khromchenko 8-1.Â

The Mountain Hawks will be back in action next weekend when they take on Navy, beginning Friday and continuing through the weekend.
