Lehigh Men Extend Win Streak with Win Over Mount St. Mary's

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks extend their win streak to four-straight following a 5-2 victory in a spirited match against Mount St. Mary's Saturday inside Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh improves to 4-1 on the season, while the Mountaineers fall to 1-5.
Lehigh opened things up by winning the ever-crucial doubles point. Jack Martin-Dyer and Jacob Edelchik earned a 6-3 victory at the first flight to improve to 4-1 on the season. George Cooper and Harry Wang also scored a 6-3 win as they competed at the third flight in their first match together this season.
Wang got things started for Lehigh in the singles competition with a straight-set win at the fourth flight to improve his record to 3-2 on the season, including 3-1 at the fourth flight.
Martin-Dyer moved Lehigh one step closer to a victory with a gutsy performance at the first flight. The sophomore came back from a 6-1 loss in the second set to take the third, 6-2. Martin-Dyer is 2-2 overall this season.
Bryant Born sealed up the win for LU as he cruised to a straight-set victory over Gabriel Santos at the sixth flight. Born improves to 4-1 on the season and has clinched to matches for LU this year.
Christopher Auteri put icing on the cake as he edged Evan Hine 10-7 in the third set at the fifth flight. Auteri is now 4-0 to start the season.
Lehigh returns to action Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Hofstra to kickoff a weekend home stand. The Mountain Hawks will also face Siena at 2 p.m. Sunday.
