Mountain Hawks Score Sunday Sweep Over Siena

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks extend their win streak to five and capped off their six-match home stand with a 7-0 victory over Siena Sunday afternoon inside Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh is now 5-1 on the season, while the Saints fall to 4-8.
Lehigh began the day by sweeping the doubles matches. Jack Martin-Dyer and Jacob Edelchik extended their win streak three-straight and improve to 5-1 this season with a 6-4 victory at the top flight. Bryant Born and Jack Petersen got back in the win column and improve to 4-2 with a 6-2 victory at the second flight. George Cooper and Harry Wang earned their second victory in as many matches together with a 7-5 victory at the third flight.
Petersen moved back to the first flight Sunday and picked up his second victory at the top spot with a straight-set victory. The senior is now 2-0 at the first flight and 2-4 overall.
Jacob Edelchik improved to 2-0 at the second flight with his 6-0, 6-0 victory Sunday. The freshman is now 3-1 overall this season.
Born also scored a straight-set victory in his first match at the fourth flight. Born is on a two-match win streak and is 5-1 overall this season.
Wang came out on top in a three-set battle at the third flight as he improves to 4-2 on the season with a three-match win streak. Christopher Auteri also grinded out a three-set victory at the fifth set as he remains undefeated at 5-0 this season.
Cooper also scored a straight-set victory in his first appearance at the sixth flight. He has now won back-to-back matches and is 2-2 on the season.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action next Sunday as they begin their California swing with a match against Wash U-St. Louis.
