
Lehigh Men Open California Trip with Loss to WashU

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Mountain Hawks saw their five-match win streak come to an end as they fell, 5-2, to Division III power WashU on Sunday night to open their California spring break trip. Lehigh is now 5-2 on the season, while the Bears improve to 4-3.
The Mountain Hawks began the match by winning the doubles point. Jack Petersen and Jacob Edelchik teamed up for the first time this season and scored a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 flight. Bryant Born and George Cooper also competed in their first match as a pair this season and recorded a 6-4 victory at the third flight.
Christopher Auteri recorded Lehigh's lone singles win of the day with a straight-set victory over Shaun Berman at the sixth spot. Auteri keeps his unblemished record intact as he improves to 6-0 this season.
Lehigh will return to action Monday to face Azusa Pacific at 4:30 p.m. ET.
