
Lehigh Women Sweep Loyola for First League Win

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Lehigh women's tennis team earned its first sweep and its first Patriot League victory of the season with a 7-0 win at Loyola on Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks are now 5-6 overall and 1-1 in league play, while the Greyhounds are 5-3 overall and 2-2 against league competition.
Lehigh's freshman pairing of Sibel Can and Leigh Friedman captured the team's first victory of the day with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles as they improve to 5-6 this season. Grace Lin and Cassidy Cruz clinched the doubles point for LU with a 6-3 win at the second flight over Alexandria Agee and Lin Robertston. Lin and Cruz are now 4-7 this season. Christina Auyeung and Jamie Campisi wrapped things up with a 6-4 win at the first flight to improve their record to 5-5 and capture their second-straight Patriot League doubles win.
Can also earned the first singles win of the day as she defeated Nicole Eberle, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 2 flight. Can is 7-4 overall and a team-best 2-0 in Patriot League play.
Briana Maravich kept the wins coming for Lehigh as she posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory in her first match the third flight this season. Maravich is now 4-7 on the season and 1-1 in league matches.
Cassidy Cruz scored a 6-4 win in her first set and then clinched the victory for Lehigh with her 6-0 victory in the second set while playing in her first match at the fourth flight this season. Cruz is now 5-6 overall this season and 1-1 against Patriot League opponents.
Auyeung got back in the win column with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the top flight to improve her overall record to 7-4 and her league record to 1-1. Campisi piled on a 6-2, 6-1 victory in her first match at fifth flight this season as she improves to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Kirstin Godau sealed the sweep as she defeated Ania Krawiec, 6-2, 6-1, at the sixth spot in her season debut.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the courts for another Patriot League road competition with a trip to Colgate on Saturday.
