Lehigh Women Clinch Second Straight 7-0 League Win

VERONA, N.Y. – The Mountain Hawks recorded their second-straight 7-0 victory against a Patriot League opponent with a win at Colgate on Saturday at Turning Stone Sportsplex. Lehigh is now 6-6 overall and 1-1 in league play, while Colgate falls to 5-8 and 1-1 in the Patriot League.
Lehigh began the dual by claiming wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles flights. The pairing of Sibel Can and Leigh Friedman improve to their team-leading record to 6-6 as they picked up their second league win of the season with a 6-4 victory. Cassidy Cruz and Grace Lin picked up a 6-3 victory at the third flight for their second-straight Patriot League victory.
Can kept her unblemished league record in tact as she breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lauren O'Brien. The freshman is 8-4 on the season and 3-0 in the league.
Christina Auyeung prevailed in a three-set dual with Lauren Hyland at the top flight to improve to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League. Grace Lin also came back to win the final two sets at the third flight. Lin earned her first league win of the season as she is now 1-1.
The bottom half of the Lehigh lineup all took care of business with two-set victories. Briana Maravich, Cruz and Jamie Campisi all improve to 2-1 against patriot League competition and are all winners of two-straight.
Lehigh will return to action in a home Patriot League dual against Bucknell on Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m.
