Men's Tennis Captures League Win at Loyola

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh earned its first Patriot League victory of the season with a 6-1 victory over Loyola on Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks improve 3-10 overall and 1-1 against Patriot League play, while the Greyhounds fall to 6-5 and 2-2 in the league.
Lehigh began the dual by sweeping the doubles competition. George Cooper and Graham Lehman defeated Blest Jones and Brett Shriver, 7-5, for their second-straight league victory together. Colin Nardella and Ethan Bogard clinched the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks with their 6-1 victory at the second flight. Jack Petersen and Jack Martin-Dyer wrapped up the doubles competition with a 6-1 victory at flight No. 3 over Tyler Blessing and Matt Fitzmaurice.
Martin-Dyer secured Lehigh's first singles win of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the third flight. The freshman is now 2-5 on the season.
Petersen extended the Lehigh lead to 3-1 with his 6-3, 7-6(3) victory at the second flight. The junior is now 3-10 on the season.
Cooper clinched the win for Lehigh as he defeated Blest Jones, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (3), at the top flight. Nardella added another win with his 6-1, 6-2 victory at the fifth flight and Ethan Bogard closed out the dual with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at flight No. 6.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action with another Patriot League road trip on Saturday to face Colgate at 2 p.m.
