Lehigh Clipped by Carnegie Mellon to Close Out Cali Trip

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Lehigh concluded its California spring break trip with a 5-2 setback to No. 7 Carnegie Mellon (Division III) on Wednesday in a neutral site contest at Pomona-Pitzer. The Mountain Hawks fall to 2-9 on the season after losing four-straight, while the Tartans improve to 10-7 having won four of their last five.
The Mountain Hawks fell into an early hole as Carnegie Mellon began by sweeping the doubles competition.
The Tartans rolled to victories at the first and second singles spots. Jack Martin-Dyer played an epic battle at the third spot, but Michael Rozenvasser ultimately claimed the 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (3-7), 1-0 (10-6) victory.
Lehigh managed to close out the competition with a pair a victories in the final two singles slots. Ethan Bogard got back in the win column improved his record to 5-3 with his three-set victory over Mark Prettyman at fifth singles. Dylan Karchere-Sun also earned a three-set victory at No. 6 singles and improves to 2-6 on the season.
The Mountain Hawks return to the east coast and will open their Patriot League slate on Sunday with trip to Loyola.
