
Mountain Hawk Swimmers to Compete at Winter National Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four Mountain Hawks will compete at USA Swimming's 2016 AT&T Winter National Championships. The event will run from November 30 through December 3 and will be held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga. The format for the event will be in short course yards.
Representing Lehigh at the event will be senior Kaitlyn Ruffing on the women's side, while seniors Justin White and Jamal Willis will represent for the men. White and Willis will be making a return trip to the Winter National Championships after competing at last year's event. Ruffing will be making her first trip to the winter national stage.
All three swimmers have previously competed at the national level as they all qualified and represented Lehigh at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials this past June in Omaha, Neb. prior to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Over 400 swimmers are expected to compete at this year's AT&T Winter National Championships. Highlighting the field of swimmers are five members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team. Those members consist of:

• Caeleb Dressel (Green Cove Springs, Fla./University of Florida)
• Melanie Margalis (Clearwater, Fla./St. Petersburg Aquatics)Â
• Tom Shields (Huntington Beach, Calif./California Aquatics)
• Amanda Weir (Lawrenceville, Ga./SwimAtlanta)
The meet opens Wednesday with a relay-only session at 6 p.m. ET, followed by daily prelims and finals Thursday through Saturday. Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. daily, followed by finals at 5 p.m. Saturday finals will begin at 4:50 p.m.
NBC Sports will provide extensive television coverage from Atlanta with five broadcasts slated for later this week:
