Deppe Sets Two New Program Records in Day Two of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Mountain Hawks competed in day two of the 2026 Patriot League Championships on Thursday at the United States Naval Academy. Lehigh finished the day in sixth place with 214 points.
Will Pestrichelli and TJ Hayes earned points in the 500 yard freestyle to open up the event finals. Pestrichelli scored 16 points by placing third in the B Final and 11th overall. The sophomore needed a new personal best to do so, swimming 4:27.05. Hayes reached the C Final in his first championship race thanks to a 10 second improvement on his personal best (4:30.68) in the preliminary round. The first-year improved in the final, swimming 4:30.39 to earn 20th place and five points.
Jack Deppe swam his way into the championship race in the 200 yard individual medley with a new school record of 1:46.75. He doubled-up on his record breaking ways in the final, swimming 1:45.89 to place fourth overall. The sophomore added 26 points to Lehigh's total.
Sophomores Chase Bearley and Davis Woerner scored points in the 50 yard freestyle for the final individual event. Bearley lowered his personal record to 20.35 in the B Final, placing 13th to earn 14 points. Woerner scored five points in the C Final, swimming 20.64 to place 20th.
To conclude the day, Lehigh placed fifth in the 400 medley relay. Deppe, Bearley, Ben Kisker, and Spencer Ridge collectively swam 3:15.96, a new school record. This was Deppe's fourth program record broken at the meet, lowering records in every race he has swam in so far.
Friday's events will begin with preliminaries at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. All Patriot League Championships sessions will be aired on ESPN+.
