Ludwig, Deitch, Deppe Named to All-Academic Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League announced the men's and women's 2026 Patriot League Swimming and Diving All-Academic Teams on Thursday afternoon. Jack Deppe earned a nod for the men, while Caitlin Deitch and Mairin Ludwig were awarded the honor on the women's side.
This is the first time in her four year career that Deitch receives this honor. The senior is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member, and has made the Dean's list in six of seven completed semesters. She was also named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District in 2024. She recently completed her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and is now in the mechanical engineering graduate program. Deitch scored 64 individual points at the Patriot League Championships, leading her to be named second team All-Patriot League. The senior placed 11th in the 100 yard butterfly, swimming 54.57. She swam 50.86 in the 100 yard freestyle final, placing seventh. She placed fifth in the 200 yard butterfly, finishing in 2:00.87. She was in Lehigh's fourth place 800 yard freestyle relay, third place 200 yard freestyle relay, and second place 400 yard freestyle relay.
Ludwig also earns a spot on the All-Academic team for the first time in her college career. The senior has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in all of her previous three seasons, and has been named to the Dean's list in all seven semesters. She was also named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District in 2024. She is currently working towards an international relations degree. Ludwig earned 64 points to make the second team All-Patriot League. The senior swam 4:56.22 in the 500 yard freestyle to place 11th. She finished seventh in the 200 yard freestyle relay, touching in 1:50.38. She ranked fifth in the Patriot League in the 100 yard freestyle with a 50.48-second swim. Ludwig was also in Lehigh's fourth place 800 yard freestyle relay, third place 200 yard freestyle relay, and second place 400 yard freestyle relay.
Deppe is awarded All-Academic honors for the first time in his collegiate career. The sophomore was named to the 2025 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, and has been awarded the Faculty Athletics Council Academic Award in all three semesters so far. He is currently working towards his mechanical engineering degree. Deppe was the lone male Mountain Hawk named to the all-league teams, he scored 70 individual points in the meet to be named second team All-Patriot League. Deppe broke five school records at the meet, etching his name into the record book for all three of his individual events and being a part of two relay records. He swam 1:45.89 in the 200 yard individual medley, placing fourth in the league. He placed sixth in the 400 yard individual medley with a record breaking time of 3:51.97. He became the first Mountain Hawk to break the two minute mark in the event, swimming 1:58.73 and placing ninth. He was a member of the school record breaking 800 yard freestyle relay team that placed fourth, and the record breaking 400 yard medley relay team that placed fifth. He was also a part of the fifth place 200 yard freestyle relay team and Lehigh's sixth placing 400 yard freestyle relay team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The Academic All-Patriot League team for swimming has 18 student-athletes, and is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
Lehigh will head to Bucknell University this weekend for their final meet of the season. The Mountain Hawks will compete in the ECAC Championships, taking place from February 27 to March 1.
