Four Mountain Hawks Named CSC Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The College Sports Communicators announced the Swimming and Diving Academic All-District awards on Tuesday Afternoon. Mairin Ludwig, Clara Moschella, Kate Whitaker, and Caitlin Deitch received the recognition for their exceptional athletic and academic achievements.Â
This is the second time seniors Ludwig and Deitch receive the nod, as they were both named CSC's Academic All-District for the 2023-24 season.
Deitch was named to the Patriot League All-Academic team earlier this year, and has made the Dean's list in six of seven completed semesters. She recently completed her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and is now in the mechanical engineering graduate program. Deitch scored 64 individual points at the Patriot League Championships, leading her to be named second team All-Patriot League.Â
Ludwig was named to the Patriot League All-Academic team earlier this year, and has been named to the Dean's list in all seven semesters. She is currently working towards an international relations degree. Ludwig earned 64 points to make the second team All-Patriot League.
This is the first time Moschella earns the All-District distinction. She is currently working toward a civil engineering degree. She scored 56 points at the Patriot League Championships this year to be named second-team all-Patriot League.Â
Whitaker's addition to the All-District team is the first for the junior. She is working on her business information systems degree. She scored fifteen points at the Patriot League Championships this year across two diving events.
To be eligible for the All-District Team, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and land in first through eighth place at a conference championship meet. First-year student-athletes are not eligible for Academic All-District or Academic All-America honors.
