Men and Women Each Set New School Record in Day One of Patriot League Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Day one of the Patriot League Championships got underway at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After two completed finals for Lehigh's women's team, the Mountain Hawks sit in fourth place with 100 points. Lehigh's men's team is currently seventh after three completed finals.Â
Men's diving kicked off the four days of competition. First-year Ben Elie was Lehigh's top diver, scoring 160.15 points to place 25th. The 200 yard medley relay was the first men's swimming event, and Lehigh placed seventh. The relay team consisting of Ben Kisker, Spencer, Ridge, Aaron Williams, and Chase Bearley swam 1:29.77. The men's 800 yard freestyle relay concluded the day, and the Mountain Hawks went out with a bang. The squad of Frankie Prekop, Braeden Roach, Jack Deppe, and Will Moon swam 6:32.49, smashing the school record by 11 seconds. They finished fourth.
The women's 200 yard medley relay was the opening swimming event, where Lehigh finished in sixth. Eliza Johnson, Zoe Davies, Clara Moschella, and Genevieve Cody collectively swam for a new program record, touching at 1:41.30. The women concluded day one with a fourth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay. Johnson, Sophie Perry, Caitlin Deitch, and Mairin Ludwig were the featured swimmers, finishing in 7:21.86.
Tomorrow's events will begin with preliminaries at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. All Patriot League Championships sessions will be aired on ESPN+.
