BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The rivalry continues on Friday night as the Lehigh men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to Easton, Pa. for a Patriot League dual with Lafayette. Action inside Weinstein Natatorium is slated to get underway at 6 p.m.
The Mountain Hawk men own a 73-14 record against the Leopards all-time, while the Lehigh women are 29-13 against archrival Lafayette.
Lehigh is coming off a solid showing at the competitive two-day Big Al Open hosted by Princeton University last weekend. The men had nine individuals finish in the top-eight in their respected events and had four relay teams turn in top-five performances. The women compiled 14 individual top-eight performances with two individual victories, led by Kaitlyn Ruffing who captured both individual victories on the weekend.
The women's team is 3-1 in dual meets this season with a record of 1-1 against Patriot League competition. The men are 2-2 overall in dual meets and also 1-1 in league duals. Both teams fell on the road to Boston University and picked up wins at Loyola earlier this season.
In last year's meeting, Lehigh defeated Lafayette by a score of 167-124 on the men's side and 210.4-85.6 in the women's meet. The Mountain Hawks rewrote the record board at Weinstein last year as the women's team posted 10 new pool records and the men set three. The women also set two to new school records in the process.
