Mountain Hawks earn No. 2 seed for this weekend's PL Tournament

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced the seeds and schedules for the upcoming league tournament Tuesday evening and for the third consecutive year Lehigh earned the No. 2 seed. The Mountain Hawks will face No. 7 seed Holy Cross in the opening round for the third straight year with the match set for approximately 2 p.m. Friday from Colgate's Abrahamson Courts in Hamilton, N.Y.
Lehigh finished the regular season at 15-5 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks enter the postseason looking to bounce back from a tough 4-3 loss to Bucknell Monday in Lewisburg.
Holy Cross is 1-10 overall and 0-3 against Patriot League opponents. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Crusaders 7-0 at Army's Lichtenberg Tennis Center back on March 23. Lehigh defeated Holy Cross 4-0 in the opening round of each of the last two Patriot League Tournaments.
The Patriot League Tournament begins Friday morning when No. 4 Navy meets No. 5 Colgate at 10 a.m. Lehigh will play Holy Cross Friday at approximately 2 p.m. with No. 3 Bucknell meeting No. 6 Lafayette in the final match of the day at approximately 5 p.m.
The semifinals will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. when No.1 seed Army meets the Navy-Colgate winner. The Lehigh-Holy Cross winner will play the Bucknell-Lafayette winner in the second semifinal match at 2 p.m. Sunday's championship match will be played at noon.
The entire tournament is slated for Colgate's Abrahamson Courts. In the event of inclement weather matches will be moved inside the Drumlins Tennis Club in Syracuse, N.Y.
