Lehigh trio named to Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three Lehigh men’s tennis student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league on Tuesday. Senior Randall Smalley and juniors Ryan Lloyd and Brad Nelson were three of 32 men’s tennis student-athletes named to the honor roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete must obtain at least a 3.2 grade point average and be awarded a varsity letter in his or her sport.

More than just Lehigh’s top singles and doubles player on the court, Smalley earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in his final semester at Lehigh, making him one of two men’s tennis student athletes in the league to earn a 4.0 in the spring. Smalley, a three-time all-league selection, earned his degree in Finance in May. A co-captain and Lehigh’s number two singles player, Lloyd posted a 3.30 GPA majoring in finance. Nelson held down the number four spot for the Brown and White and earned a 3.75 in the spring, majoring in sociology and social psychology.

Army’s Carl Fisher was named the league’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row.
