2019 (SENIOR SEASON)
Second Team All-Patriot League catcher...Academic All-Patriot League selection...concluded career with spectacular final season, including a special second half of the year...started all 47 games he played in at both catcher and designated hitter...saw his offensive numbers dramatically improve from 2018, with new career-highs in nearly every offensive category...led the team with a .428 on-base percentage, was tied for the team-lead in homers with eight and his 34 walks were the second most on the team...led the team with 14 multi-hit games, including a season-long 20 game on-base streak...was third in the Patriot League in RBIs with 46...ends career playing 135 games behind the plate, the most-ever by a Lehigh catcher in program history...went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs at Delaware (3/26)...had a strong day at the plate going 4-for-5 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and five RBIs in a 20-15 victory over Saint Joseph's (4/3)...Against Navy (4/14) at home, he went 1-for-3 with three walks, a home run, four runs scored and three RBIs in a 16-4 win...best game of the season came at Lafayette (4/17), where he went 4-for-6 with a home run, two doubles, three runs scored and six RBIs...defensively, he had 259 putouts at catcher, with 31 assists and only three errors for a fielding percentage of .990...named to the College Baseball Daily Preseason All-Patriot League team...was named a Poets and Quants Best and Brightest Class of 2019 selection in Lehigh's College of Business.
2018 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Jewish Sports Review All-American…Second Team All-Patriot League catcher…Academic All-Patriot League honoree…established new career-highs in nearly every offensive and defensive category…posted the fifth-highest fielding percentage (.994) overall in the Patriot League, including a 1.000 fielding percentage in league play…threw out 15 runners attempting to steal, which ranked second in the Patriot League…ranked second among catchers in the Patriot League with a career-high .280 batting average…finished second among his Lehigh teammates with 12 multi-hit games and ended the season on an eight-game reached base streak…has thrown out 35 runners attempting to steal in his career, leading Lehigh in that category each season with the team…earned his first Patriot League weekly award as he was named Patriot League Player of the Week (5/7) after leading Lehigh in hits (8) and total bases (12), while hitting .500 (8-for-16) and slugging .750 to lead the Mountain Hawks to a 4-1 record in the final week of the season…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2017 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Started in 41 of the team’s 50 games while playing primarily behind the plate in addition to serving as a designated hitter…went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in 15-4 win over NJIT (3/26)…threw out 15 base runners from behind home plate which ranked second in the Patriot League…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll with a 4.00 GPA in the spring semester.
2016 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Made 19 starts behind the plate and appeared in 26 games…finished his rookie campaign with 15 RBI and 13 runs scored…went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored in game three of the Patriot League Semifinal series at Holy Cross (5/15)…recorded a season-best five RBI in a 16-5 win over NYIT (4/27)…had three-straight two-hit games against UMES, Lafayette and NYIT from April 20-27...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE LEHIGH
Shanfeldt will come to Lehigh from Garnet Valley High School where he helped lead the Jaguars to two league championships and four years of district playoffs. A three-time All-Delaware County selection, Shanfeldt finished his high school career with a .357 batting average and .489 on-base percentage. He was named the sixth best catcher in the Pennsylvania Class of 2015 catcher Perfect Game, in addition to ranking as one of the top 200 catchers nationally. Shanfeldt was a two-time Under Armour Preseason All-American Tournament selection and earned Perfect Game Northeast Region honorable mention honors in 2015. He holds Garnet Valley’s single-season runs scored and career varsity games played records. Off the field, Shanfeldt was a four-year honor roll student, member of the National Honor and National Business Honor Societies, an officer of Future Business Leaders of America and a peer mediator and counselor.
