PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Capping off the final week of the season, Lehigh baseball swept the Patriot League weekly awards as Jeff Shanfeldt was named Player of the Week, Jason Reynolds was named Pitcher of the Week and Peter Woltersdorf earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Shanfeldt, Reynolds and Woltersdorf guided Lehigh to a 4-1 record on the final week of the season, including three wins over Patriot League teams that have qualified for the postseason. Lehigh opened the week with a historical 27-2 victory at Saint Peter's last Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks then continued its road trip with a doubleheader split at Patriot League Regular Season Co-Champion Army on Saturday before closing out the week with a Sunday sweep at Holy Cross.

Shanfeldt earned his first-career Player of the Week honor as he led the team in hits (8) and total bases (12) in a huge week offensively in which he hit .500 (8-for-16), slugged .750 and posted a .571 on-base percentage. The junior catcher compiled a 1.000 fielding percentage as he started all five games behind the plate and held the Patriot League stolen base leader, Army, to zero stolen bases in Saturday's twin bill.

The Garnet Valley, Pa. native went 4-for-7 in Sunday's sweep over Holy Cross, including the game-tying home run in the comeback win in game two. He reached base safely in all five games on the week, including a hit in four of the five games. Shanfeldt ended the season with an eight-game reach base streak.

Reynolds earned his first-career Pitcher of the Week award as he led Lehigh to a 5-0 victory over Army in game two on Saturday as he tossed a nine-inning, complete-game shutout. He is one of only two Patriot League pitchers to throw a nine-inning shutout this season as he led Lehigh to its first shutout against Army since 2014.

The Sicklervile, N.J. native limited the Black Knight offense to just three hits, their lowest total in a nine-inning Patriot League game this season as he tossed a no-hitter through the final five innings. He only allowed two runners to reach scoring position all game and retired the final seven batters in order as he out-performed last week's Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, Daniel Burggraaf, in a head-to-head matchup.

Woltersdorf earned his third Rookie of the Week honor after posting a 2-0 record on the mound last week including a start at Saint Peter's and a relief appearance at Holy Cross. The rookie right-hander compiled eight strikeouts in 4.0 innings in his start at Saint Peter's and followed up that performance with another eight-strikeout day in 4.0 innings on Sunday.

The Flemington, N.J. native inherited a two-run deficit when he entered in the sixth inning at Holy Cross and tossed a one-hit shutout through the final four innings to help lead Lehigh to the 8-5 comeback win in game two. Woltersdorf ended the season with a 6-0 record to lead the Lehigh pitching staff in wins and ranked second on the team with 16 total appearances on the season.
