Mountain Hawks Fall 4-0 To Bucknell On Senior Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh baseball hosted the Bucknell Bison at J. David Walker Field on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day. The Mountain Hawks were bested by a score of 4-0.
Prior to the game, the Mountain Hawks honored David Andolina, Ryan Cochran, Brandon Coughlin, Trystan Crawford, Ryan Davis, Jack Frankovic, Ralph Gariano, Tommy Lamar, Cole Leaman, Shane O'Neill, Dom Patrizi, Aidan Quinn, and Owen Walewander as part of the Class of 2026.
Bucknell (23-21, 16-8 PL) starting pitcher Jake Schultz earned the win after striking out six batters while allowing only three hits in 6.0 scoreless innings. Leaman was credited with the loss for Lehigh (14-30, 7-17 PL) after conceding the lead in the top of the first inning.
The Bison got on the board first in the top of the first when Garrett Mathias reached base on an error, allowing Billy Fluharty to score for Bucknell. Another run came aboard in the top of the third when Zach Selfon singled home Mathias to extend Bucknell's lead to two.
Schultz and the Lehigh pitching staff traded scoreless frames in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings before the Bison extended their lead in the seventh. Another RBI from Selfon sent home Mathias before a Fluharty sac-fly in the top of the eighth gave Bucknell a 4-0 advantage. Bryce Mitchell and Hadley Maxwell closed out the final three innings for Bucknell to secure them the victory.
Ian Wirtz went 2-4 with a double on the day while Robby Grasso provided Lehigh's other hit. Andolina, Gariano, and Lamar also appeared on the mound for the Mountain Hawks.
The Mountain Hawks will conclude the regular season on Sunday, May 3 for a doubleheader against the Bison beginning at 12 p.m. at J. David Walker Field.
