Wirtz joins the Lehigh baseball program from Cheshire, Connecticut, where he played catcher for both Choate Rosemary Hall and the CT Mets travel team. He garnered several accolades during his career, including First Team All-SCC, two-time First Team All-Founders, All-NEPSAC honorable mention and was named the Founders League Co-Player of the Year. Wirtz also excelled in the classroom, as he plans to major in engineering at Lehigh after being a three-time honor roll and six-time Dean’s List recipient.
