SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Lehigh baseball played its final non-league opponent of the season on Wednesday afternoon on the road against the Seton Hall Pirates. The Mountain Hawks faced an early deficit and ultimately fell 10-5 to their Big East opponent.

Christopher Ho was credited with the win for Seton Hall 14-22 (2-10 BE) after striking out three batters while allowing no hits in 2.0 scoreless innings. Lehigh (14-29, 7-16 PL) starter Ralph Gariano received the loss after being tagged for five earned runs in 1.0 innings.

Ryan Frontera got things started for the Pirates in the top of the first with an RBI single to give Seton Hall the early lead. The Pirates stayed hot in the second, extending the lead to two on a Joe Marini RBI single before Gabe Cavazzoni delivered a grand slam to center field that extended Seton Hall's advantage to six. A Nick Tomasetto sac-fly in the fifth inning allowed the Pirates to hold a 7-0 lead through five innings.

Aidan Quinn jumpstarted the Lehigh offense in the sixth, singling home Robbie Carvelli for his team's first run of the day. Owen Walewander then hit a sac-fly to score Quinn and push Lehigh's deficit to five. However, a three-run bottom of the sixth from the Pirates gave Seton Hall the additional cushion it needed. Despite a Robby Grasso RBI single, a bases loaded hit by pitch and a bases loaded walk in the eighth, the Seton Hall lead was too much for the Mountain Hawks to overcome.

Quinn went 2-4 on the day with two runs scored, an RBI, and a triple. Carvelli, Grasso, Dom Patrizi, and Edwin Betances also recorded hits for Lehigh. Ryan Holman, Declan Wilkes, Cole Kochanowicz, Noah Gyauch-Quirk, Brandon Coughlin, Shane O'Neill, Tommy Lamar, and David Andolina appeared on the mound in addition to Gariano.

The Mountain Hawks will play their final weekend series of the season on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 for three games against the Bucknell Bison at J. David Walker Field.
