Garrido, Jamiel Collect Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following its 44-30 triumph over Penn on Family Weekend at Goodman Stadium, Lehigh football picked up a pair of Patriot League weekly awards Monday. Senior wide receiver Geoffrey Jamiel was named Offensive Player of the Week and senior kicker Nick Garrido garnered Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

Both student-athletes played major roles in Lehigh's victory, which moved the Mountain Hawks to 5-0 for the first time since 2012.

Jamiel recorded his second consecutive 100-yard receiving day with 132 yards on eight receptions. He delivered the biggest play of the game on special teams, when he ran 20 yards on a fake field goal for a touchdown that gave Lehigh a 23-20 lead it would not relinquish. Jamiel later added a 35-yard touchdown catch on the first play of the fourth quarter to put the Mountain Hawks up by 10 points.

For the season, Jamiel has 32 receptions for 457 yards and three touchdowns. He ranks seventh in the FCS in total receiving yards through five weeks.

Garrido established a new career high in kick scoring for the second consecutive week, converting a career-best three field goals plus five extra points for a total of 14. He connected on field goals of 35, 33 and 25 yards as Lehigh built a 16-14 halftime lead.

The three field goals and five extra points left Garrido at 5-for-5 on field goals and 22-for-22 on extra points so far in this 2025 season.

Lehigh moved up one spot in both major polls this week, with the Mountain Hawks now No. 8 in the AFCA Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
