BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three members of the Lehigh football team have been named to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society, for their on-field and academic achievements, the NFF announced Wednesday. Lehigh's honorees for the 2025 season are linebacker Brycen Edwards, kicker Nick Garrido and defensive lineman Dillon Sheehan.
Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include: being a starter or significant contributor in one's last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university, achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout the entire course of undergraduate study, and meeting all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
Edwards represented the Mountain Hawks on the Academic All-Patriot League team and was Lehigh's nominee and a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, as an accounting and finance major with a 3.35 GPA. He was Lehigh's top tackler in 2025 with 83, and added nine tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Garrido was Lehigh's primary placekicker for the last three seasons. He converted 9-of-10 field goals and 35-of-36 extra points during the 2025 campaign. Academically, Garrido holds a 3.23 GPA as an economics major.
Sheehan holds a 3.44 GPA as an accounting major. He appeared in 11 games on the defensive line during his fifth-year season, finishing with 14 tackles, four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
A record 2,596 players from 365 schools qualified for Hampshire Honor Society membership in 2026, the Society's 20th year. The initiative has now honored 23,568 student-athletes since its inception.
This marks the 13th time in 14 seasons that Lehigh has had at least one football student-athlete named to the Hampshire Honor Society.
