Â
On the very next Fordham play, fifth-year Nick Peltekian intercepted Smith and returned the ball to the Fordham nine-yard line. Connor Poole's 26-yard field goal put Lehigh up 31-0 at halftime.
Â
Poole kicked a 29-yard field goal in the third quarter to account for the final scoring.
Â
Senior William Parton and first-year Josh Lenart led the defense with five tackles. Parton also picked off Smith in the third quarter, which led to Poole's second field goal.
Â
Six different players recorded sacks. Junior Luke Reilly stripped Smith in the third quarter with Lehigh recovering. Fordham gained just 96 yards in the first half, and despite moving the ball periodically in the second half, were kept off the board by the Lehigh defense.
