BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After scoring a career-high 11 points in Lehigh's 41-24 win at Bucknell on Saturday, senior placekicker Nick Garrido was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week Monday. Garrido connected on a pair of short field goals and made all five of his extra point attempts as the Mountain Hawks picked up a big road win to move to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Patriot League play.

Garrido earned his third career Special Teams Player of the Week award. He booted his first two field goals of the season, connecting from 24 yards out to cap Lehigh's opening drive and giving the Mountain Hawks an early 3-0 lead; and then capped the scoring with a 23-yard field goal to put Lehigh up by three scores with 1:42 to play. He also went 5-for-5 on extra point attempts to surpass his previous career-high scoring total set last year at Georgetown.

For the season, Garrido is a perfect 17-for-17 on extra points in addition to his two field goal makes from Saturday night.

The Mountain Hawks garnered a pair of honorable mentions from the league as well, with sophomore running back Jaden Green and fifth-year defensive end Dillon Sheehan recognized. In Lehigh's best single-game rushing performance since 2016, Green rushed for 127 yards and scored three total touchdowns. Junior Luke Yoder added a career-high 174 rushing yards in the victory. Sheehan registered 2.5 of Lehigh's six sacks in the victory as Lehigh matched its sack output from its first three games.

Lehigh was also recognized Monday as the FCS Team of the Week by Stats Perform. The Mountain Hawks avenged their lone league loss from a season ago with their win in Lewisburg. Lehigh improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2013 with the victory over the Bison. Lehigh held steady at No. 10 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and moved up one spot to No. 9 in the AFCA poll.

The Mountain Hawks return to Goodman Stadium Saturday for the first of three consecutive games against Ivy League opponents as Lehigh hosts Penn as part of Family Weekend, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health. Game time is set for noon. Tickets can be purchased at LehighTickets.com or by calling 610-758-4263 during business hours.
