
Murariu Wins Rookie Of The Year, Three Named To All-Patriot League Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its men's tennis major awards and all-league teams on Friday afternoon. Lehigh first-year Jose Murariu was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the Second Team All-Patriot League. In addition, senior Marc Blekhman was named to the First Team All-Patriot League Team and senior Sean Jaeger nabbed a spot on the Second Team All-Patriot League.
Blekhman becomes a four-time All-Patriot League selection, having made the second team in each of his first three seasons. Murariu is Lehigh's first Patriot League Rookie of the Year since 2022 when Blekhman was awarded the honor. Jaeger's selection is the first league recognition of his career.
Murariu posted a 10-9 singles record and 4-2 record in league play primarily in the number one position. He picked up singles wins over Loyola, Holy Cross, Colgate and Navy and was winning in all three of his unfinished matches. In doubles play, Murariu went 8-9 on the season.
Blekhman etched his name into the Lehigh record books this season, surpassing 100 total career wins across both singles and doubles. He led the team with a 14-7 singles record primarily at number two, picking up Patriot League wins over Army, Lafayette, Loyola, Holy Cross, Colgate and Boston U. Blekhman also led the team with a 12-10 singles record at number one.
Jaeger posted a singles record of 12-9, primarily playing at number three. He went 6-2 in league play, earning wins over Army, Lafayette, Loyola, Holy Cross and Colgate. Alongside Blekhman, Jaeger also led the Mountain Hawks with 12 doubles wins at number one.
Lehigh posted a record of 13-10 in 2025, including a 6-2 mark in league play. The third-seeded Mountain Hawks defeated Holy Cross in the Patriot League Championship quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Bucknell in the semifinals.
