Mountain Hawks Open Patriot League Schedule At Loyola Maryland, Host Navy On Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After nearly two months of non-league competition, Lehigh men's tennis begins Patriot League play this weekend with two duals in two days. The Mountain Hawks will travel to face the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on Friday before hosting the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday.
Lehigh (6-7) last competed against NJIT, losing 7-0 in their final meet before Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks dropped the opening doubles point to both NJIT's number one and number three spots. Lehigh won the doubles match at number two, but it came after matches one and three had already finished.
Loyola Maryland (5-9) fell to Mount St. Mary's after winning all three of their doubles matches against the Mountaineers. However, the Greyhounds fell in singles play despite four of the matches needing a third set. The Greyhounds are 1-1 in conference play this year after defeating Holy Cross (3/23) and falling to Army West Point (3/24).
Navy (18-11) just dropped their league opener against Boston University, losing 4-2 to the Terriers. Navy won the doubles point, but the Terriers railed by winning the first set in five of the six singles matches, including a win at the number one match. The Midshipmen are slated to face the Lafayette Leopards on Saturday prior to their meeting with the Mountain Hawks that same day.
The Mountain Hawks will travel to Baltimore to face the Greyhounds on Friday at 3 p.m. The team will return to Bethlehem to host the Midshipmen at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
