
Lehigh Wins Second Game In A Row With 10-8 Win Over Old Dominion

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Led by a six-goal effort by graduate student Emma Eberhardt, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team extended its win streak to two with a 10-8 win over Old Dominion on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex.

Eberhardt tallied seven points, adding an assist to her career high-tying single game scoring mark. Senior Olivia Memeger contributed two goals and two assists on the afternoon.

The Monarchs jumped out on a 3-1 lead with 6:30 remaining in the first quarter. Lehigh came back with a two-goal run by Eberhardt sending the teams into the second quarter knotted up at 3-3. Coming off her Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors, first-year Molly Snow contributed assists on both of Eberhardt's goals.

Early into the second quarter, first-year Grace Martel scored off an assist from Snow to give the Mountain Hawks a 4-3 lead. Old Dominion responded with two goals of its own before Eberhardt completed her hat trick, sending the teams to the intermission with the Monarchs holding a 6-5 advantage.

Memeger kicked off the second half with a goal, tying the game at 6-6 with 11:58 remaining in the third. Old Dominion picked up the lead with a goal at 10:41 before Martel netted her second of the contest to tie it up at 7-7. With 33 seconds remaining in the third, Eberhardt gave Lehigh an 8-7 advantage heading into the final quarter.

The first goal of the fourth quarter came from Old Dominion, tying it up at 8-8 with just over 11 minutes to play. Lehigh regained the lead at 9:41 with Eberhardt's fifth goal of the game, before the graduate student scored a free-position shot as the Mountain Hawks held on to secure the 10-8 win.Â

Senior goalkeeper Hayley Hunt played all 60 minutes in net, recording eight saves and two ground balls. Her Old Dominion counterpart, Jenna Peccia made 17 saves on the afternoon.

Graduate student Cassie Marte earned 11 draw controls, leaving her just 21 off the school record for career draw controls. First-year Brynn Freeman was a force defensively, picking up two ground balls and causing three turnovers while helping Lehigh successfully clear the ball.

Lehigh (3-1) continues its homestand next Saturday, playing host to American in the Patriot League opener slated for noon.
