Lehigh Defeated By Lafayette in Season Finale Despite Snow’s Impactful Performance

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh hosted Lafayette for the final game of the regular season The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health, resulted in the Leopards defeating the Mountain Hawks 11-8.
The game started as a defensive battle. Isabelle Pohmer of Lafayette scored 41 seconds into the game, and the next goal came 6:25 later off the stick of Kristin Igneri to give the Leopards a 2-0 lead. Molly Snow scored at 5:05 for the final goal of the period.
Lafayette took a 4-1 lead after 2:27 with a goal from Evelyn Guyer and another from Igneri. Snow found the back of the net once again a woman-up at 8:07 to bring Lehigh's deficit to two. Kacie Wines scored twice in the final 1:45 to tie the game at four halfway through.
Lafayette took control in the third period, scoring the only four goals of the quarter. The Leopards extended their goal streak to six to take a 10-4 lead with 10:39 remaining. Snow scored twice more and Karina Van der Walt notched a goal in a minute and a half span to keep Lehigh alive with four minutes remaining, but one more goal from Igneri secured the Leopard victory.
Snow scored four goals to finish as the game's leading goal scorer. Wines and Van der Walt were the only other Mountain Hawks to score, tallying two each. Wines also had two assists, one behind Gracie Shoup's three, which was a game-high. Wines finished with 42 assists on the season, the third most in a single season in team history. Shoup totaled 27 assists, slotting her at 12th all-time in a single season.
Snow also had a game-high five draw controls and three caused turnovers. Brynn Freeman led all players with four ground balls, one above Grace Martel to cement herself as Lehigh's season leader.
Micaela Jennings had seven saves after playing all sixty minutes in goal.
Guyer and Igneri were Lafayette's leading scorers, each scoring hat tricks.
Lehigh wraps up the season 6-10 and 1-8 in Patriot League play.
