Mountain Hawks Drop Neutral Site Match To IUPUI 4-3

ORLANDO, Fla. – Lehigh men's tennis traveled south to Orlando, Florida for their spring break and an opportunity to play two neutral site duals. The Mountain Hawks matched up with the IUPUI Jaguars on Monday afternoon, falling by a score of 4-3.
Lehigh's (5-6) six-match streak of doubles point wins came to a halt, as IUPUI (5-10) earned the match's first point. Noah Viste and Blessing Benibo first defeated Aristotelis Bezianis and Jackson Morash, but Matt Kleiman and Marc Blekhman won their match at number one to set the number two doubles match as the deciding one. Jordan Paul and Sean Jaeger fell 6-4 to give the Jaguars an early 1-0 lead.
The Jaguars continued to impress to begin singles play, earning the first two points courtesy of wins at the number four and five spots. Bezianis picked up Lehigh's first point of the dual thanks to a two-set victory at number three, which included a 7-6 tiebreak win in the second set. However, IUPUI's Eli Mercer defeated Morash at number six in two sets to clinch the win for the Jaguars. The two teams played out the rest of the day's matches after the clinch, resulting in singles wins for Kleiman and Blekhman.
The Mountain Hawks return to action in Orlando on Thursday, March 14 against Emporia State University. The match is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
