BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis returns to action from the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center for two dual meets this weekend. The Mountain Hawks will host both Rider and Bryant on Saturday.
Lehigh (2-4) dropped two closely contested duals at home to FDU and Hofstra last week. The Mountain Hawks swept the doubles point in both duals, but were narrowly edged 4-2 in singles play against both opponents. Sophomore Aristotelis Bezianis went a perfect 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles play on the week while Marc Blekhman and Sean Jaeger also earned singles wins for Lehigh.
Rider (1-7) has played ten matches already early in the spring season, with their lone coming by way of a 4-3 victory over Sacred Heart in their season opener. The Broncs have gone on to lose seven consecutive duals, winning a total of seven points in that stretch. Rider fell to fellow Patriot League side Bucknell 6-1 in their most recent dual on February 10.
Bryant (7-2) will face the Mountain Hawks after competing in a dual against Delaware on Friday. The Bulldogs started the season 1-2 after falling to #10 Harvard and St. John's. However, Bryant has won their past six duals in a row, including a 5-2 win over Patriot League side Boston University in their last time out.
The Mountain Hawks will first face Rider at 9 a.m. from the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center followed by a match for the women's team against Seton Hall. At the conclusion of the women's match, Lehigh will face Bryant at approximately 6 p.m.
