Mountain Hawks Suffer Losses to Seton Hall in Home Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's and women's swimming and diving both suffered losses to Seton Hall Friday night in the home opener at Jacobs Pool. The women fell 123-115 to the Pirates and the men fell 152-90 to Seton Hall.

WOMEN'S RECAP
With the loss, the Mountain Hawks fell to 4-2 on the season. 

Lehigh recorded seven wins on Friday. The 200-yard medley relay team of Anushree Ghate, Zoe Davies, Clara Moschella and Caitlin Deitch
swam to a first-place finish with a time of 1:48.10. In addition to finishing first in the relays, Davies had an individual win on Friday, coming in first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.17).


Sophomore Eliza Meth rolled to a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:11.61), with teammate Monica Wintermute taking home a third-place finish (2:14.98). Junior Natalie Martin won the 200-yard butterfly, finishing first with a time of 2:06.85. 

Junior Willa Werwaiss continued her win streak after finishing first in the 200-yard backstroke with 2:02.49. Teammates Lily Van Der Sman and Claire Coughlin had a three-four punch in the 200-yard backstroke as Van Der Sman finished third (2:11.99) and Coughlin finished in fourth with a time of 2:12.49. 

The Mountain Hawks also had a three-fourth punch in the 1000-yard freestyle with Maggie Mikalic taking third (10:53.11) and Caitlin Hofmann finishing in fourth (11:04.66). 

Lehigh swept the dives with senior Sarah Gill taking first place in the one-meter dive with 246.53 points and reigning Patriot League Diver of the Week Kate Whitaker won the three-meter dive with 240.98 points

MEN'S RECAP
The men are now 3-3 on the season. Lehigh totaled two wins on Saturday. 

Sophomore Owen Higinbotham recorded the first individual win of his career, coming in first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:47.33. Higinbotham also had a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:04.21) and teammates Alfredo Figueroa Sedano (10:06.70) and Samuel Stone (10:39.52) coming in third and fourth place, respectively. 

The 200-yard medley relay team of Ben Kisker, Jack DeVilbiss, Aaron Williams and Tim Norris swam to a first-place finish, recording a time of 1:32.39. 

First-year Frankie Prekop had a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (47.24). First-year Tristan Ronayne also a second-place mark, finishing with a time of 1:53.39. 

Senior Connor Goodyear took home a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM (1:56.69). 

In the dives, senior Jack Grotke finished in fifth place in the one-meter dive with 163.88).

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Nov. 22 against Lafayette in The Rivalry at 6 p.m. in Easton, Pa.
