BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Two members of the Lehigh football secondary have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League team announced Wednesday. Senior cornerback Jordan Adderley and sophomore safety DJ Brown were two of the 14 Patriot League football student-athletes recognized for the performance on the field and in the classroom.
Adderley carries a 3.73 cumulative grade point average as a journalism major. Named to the Fall 2023 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Adderley, a transfer from Sacred Heart, made Lehigh's Dean's List with a GPA better than 3.60 in both semesters last year.
A Fayetteville, Ga., native, Adderley has appeared in nine games in 2024 with six starts. He has 24 tackles and seven pass breakups, which is tied for the team lead. Adderley made his first career interception at Georgetown and returned the pick 61 yards for a touchdown in Lehigh's 43-6 triumph.
Brown holds a 3.90 GPA as a political science major, which ranks second among Lehigh upperclass players. He also made the Fall 2023 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and garnered Dean's List distinction in his first two semesters on campus.
The Folsom, Calif., product appeared in all 11 games, featuring on special teams and as part of a safety rotation. Brown finished with 21 tackles, with a high of six in a November win over Colgate, and made his first career interception in Lehigh's win over Fordham on Oct. 26.
Bucknell junior offensive lineman John Ohnegian was selected as Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The Academic All-Patriot League team for football has 14 student-athletes, and is voted on the league's sports information directors.
