
Mountain Hawks to Square Off with Greyhounds in Patriot League Semifinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team is headed back to the Patriot League semifinals for the third straight season. The fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks will take on top seed Loyola Thursday at 3 p.m. in Baltimore. The Greyhounds are also ranked No.9 in the polls.Â

Lehigh comes into Thursday's game with an overall record of 12-5. It marked the most wins for the Mountain Hawks since 2018. The Greyhounds are 15-2 this season.
Lehigh is 5-17 all-time against Loyola. The last time Lehigh won was on April 24, 1988, in an 11-5 win.
Lehigh had a dominating 20-8 win over Holy Cross in the Patriot League quarterfinals to clinch a spot in the semifinals. It marked the first time since April 28, 2021 that Lehigh has scored 20 goals. Three players had six points in that game. Junior attacker Olivia Memeger had five goals and one assist, Katia Carnevale had four goals and two assists and Emma Eberhardt had three goals and three assists.Â
Sophomore midfielder Casey O'Connor had the opening goal and ended with a career-high of four points (2G, 2A).
Junior goalkeeper Hayley Hunt was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday after she had 10 saves in the 17-11 win over Colgate to close out the regular season. Hunt was also named to the first team All-Patriot League Monday afternoon. In the last four games, she's had double-digit saves. Hunt finished with 11 saves in the Patriot League quarterfinal win.
The Greyhounds are led by Georgia Latch, who was named the Patriot League Attacker of the Year on Monday. Latch has scored 77 points this season. In the first meeting this season against Lehigh, Latch didn't score any goals. She had three assists. It marked just the second time all season she didn't score a goal.Â
Sophomore defender Julia DiConza had the matchup against Latch and did an incredible job. DiConza was named to the second-team All-Patriot League after shutting down opponents' top offensive threats and grabbing 15 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers.Â
Lehigh played Loyola earlier this season on March 18 and lost 16-6. Eberhardt led the way with a hat trick. The Greyhounds had the 19-6 advantage in draw controls in that game. Senior midfielder Cassie Marte has won double-digit draw controls in the last three games. Marte ranks second in the program in draw controls with 188 and also has the most draw controls in a season (111). Marte was also named to the second team All-Patriot League.Â
If the Mountain Hawks defeat Loyola, they will take on the winner of No. 2 Army and No. 3 Navy in the championship game Saturday at 2 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
