Lehigh's Season Ends In Loss to Loyola

BALTIMORE - The fourth-seeded Lehigh women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in a 19-3 loss to top seed Loyola in the Patriot League semifinals Thursday afternoon at Ridley Athletic Complex.

The Mountain Hawks finish their season with an overall record of 12-6. It marked the most wins for Lehigh since 2018. The Greyhounds improved to 16-2 and will play in the Patriot League Championship on Sunday against the winner of Army and Navy.

Loyola got on the board first. Senior attacker Katia Carnevale answered a minute later to make it 1-1. The Greyhounds went on an 8-0 run from there.

Carnevale netted her second goal of the day with 1:11 remaining in the first quarter. Senior attacker Emma Eberhardt tallied her 200th point on that play with an assist. Eberhardt is one of two Mountain Hawks to record their 200th point this season. Gabby Schneider also achieved the milestone earlier this season.

Carnevale had two goals to lead the way on Thursday. Eberhardt finished with two assists as she added the helper on Schneider's goal with 5:42 remaining in the first half.

The Greyhounds led 14-3 at halftime. The Mountain Hawks only allowed five goals in the second half.

Junior goalkeeper Hayley Hunt tallied 14 saves for Lehigh. This marked the fifth straight game the first team All-Patriot League goalie recorded double-digit saves.

Georgia Latch and Sydni Black both tallied five points for the Greyhounds.

The Greyhounds held a 41-13 advantage in shots. They won 17 draw controls compared to eight draw controls from Lehigh. Loyola also won the ground ball battle, holding a 12-3 advantage.

Loyola's Lauren Spence had six saves on Thursday.
