Lehigh Suffers First League Loss At Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Lehigh men's tennis team suffered its first Patriot League loss as the Mountain Hawks dropped a 7-0 decision to defending Patriot League champion Navy Saturday at the Tose Family Tennis Center. Sophomore Marc Blekhman and senior Matt Kleiman teamed for Lehigh's lone win of the day at No. 2 doubles, but Navy won the doubles point and took all six singles matches to remain unbeaten in the league.
Lehigh falls to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in league action.
Blekhman and Kleiman defeated Herrick Legaspi and Gavin Seagraves 6-2 to even doubles action at 1-1 but Navy got a win from Finn Garner and Christian Pumpelly over seniors Michael Bukhalo and Steven Nazaroff 6-4 at No. 3 to give the Midshipmen a 1-0 lead.
Navy then won all six singles matches to complete the 7-0 victory. The match was clinched at No. 1 as Sasha Panyan won 6-4, 6-3 over Kleiman.
Bukhalo won the second set over Nathan Nguyen at No. 6 singles but fell 6-0 in the decisive third set in the last match to finish.
The Mountain Hawks will return home Sunday to host Villanova. First serves are set for 10 a.m. from the Lewis Tennis Center.
