BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team is riding a six-game win streak. The Mountain Hawks will look to continue their momentum when they take on No. 9/12 Loyola in Baltimore at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Lehigh is 6-1 overall (1-0 Patriot League), and the Greyhounds are 5-2. This will be the Patriot League opener for the Greyhounds, who won their first five games of the season before falling to No. 10 Florida and No. 2 Syracuse.
Julia DiConza and Hayley Hunt both garnered Patriot League awards on Monday. DiConza was named the Patriot League Defender of the Week, and Hunt was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week.
DiConza recorded two ground balls and a caused turnover but was also a part of the defense that limited just three goals to Lafayette, which is the fewest amount of goals Lafayette has scored against Lehigh since 1980. Hunt tallied six saves in 54 minutes.
Senior Gabby Schneider is nearing a major milestone, needing just four more assists to break the school record. Schneider currently has 102 assists. Allison Labeau '17 holds the current record of 105.
The Mountain Hawks are 5-16 all-time against Loyola and are looking for their first win over the Greyhounds since Loyola joined the Patriot League.
