Learner Named Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After going 4-0 combined across doubles and singles action last weekend, Lehigh senior Jeremy Learner was named Patriot League Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Learner teamed with junior Jordan Paul to go 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and won both of his singles matches at the No. 2 flight in a 1-1 weekend for the Mountain Hawks.

Saturday against Siena, Learner and Paul won 6-1 at the top doubles flight for Lehigh's lone win in doubles action. He then defeated Tomas Del Olmo in three sets, winning the final set 6-0 to even the match at 1-1.

Learner and Paul started a doubles sweep of LIU Sunday with a 6-3 win at the No. 1 flight. He then put the Mountain Hawks up 2-0 with a win at No. 2 doubles helping spring Lehigh to a 5-2 victory.

For the season, Learner is 5-3 in both singles and doubles, ranking second on the Mountain Hawks in wins in both categories.

The Mountain Hawks (5-5) will be back in action over spring break with matches against IUPUI (Mar. 12) and James Madison (Mar. 14) in Orlando, Fla.
