BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team is gearing up for the Patriot League Championship at Bucknell, which runs from Feb. 15 to Feb. 18 in Lewisburg at the Kinney Natatorium.
The prelims each day are set to start at 10 a.m., and the finals will start at 6 p.m.
Lehigh has had some very strong performances this year. Most of the leaders for Lehigh have been underclassmen, starting with first-year star Aaron Williams, who is competing in three individual events for Lehigh. Williams will first swim in the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle.
Sophomore Elvin Lee, who will be competing in his second Patriot League Championships, is the 13 seed in the 100-yard butterfly out of 67 swimmers. Williams is also competing in the 100-yard butterfly, but he is seeded 18th. First-year Jack Krause and Alex Patti will also both swim with Lee and Williams in the 100-yard butterfly.
Senior Caleb Eberly will look to lead Lehigh with his leadership in the Patriot League Championship. He's swimming in the 100-yard backstroke, the 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard freestyle.
First-year Jack Devilbiss and junior Aiden McCurley are both set to swim in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Devilbiss' best time this season was 56.52, and McCurley's personal record this season was 57.19.
Sophomore Tim Norris leads Lehigh in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.42).
The first event that Lehigh will partake in, as they don't have any divers for the Patriot League Championships, is the 200-medley relay. Lehigh has the fifth-best seed out of 10 teams. The Mountain Hawks' best time this year in that event was 1:30.25. The 800-freestyle relay will be the final event for the day on Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks are sixth in that seed.
