BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Now with three fall competitions under their belts, the Lehigh men's tennis team looks ahead to the 2023 ITA Division-I Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The Mountain Hawks will travel five members of its team to the event while the four other players will compete in another competition later this month.

The Mountain Hawks are scheduled to participate in both singles and doubles play throughout the course of the event. ITA Regionals are set up into two brackets; a 128-man bracket for singles and a 64-team bracket for doubles play. The tournaments are scheduled to run from Friday, October 6 through Monday, October 9.

Singles play will begin on Friday with the entirety of the first round. The five Mountain Hawks participating in the singles tournament are Marc Blekhman, Matt Kleiman, Jordan Paul, Aristotelis Bezianis and Jackson Morash.

Blekhman will get things started for Lehigh in singles competition against Niagara's Tanner Bedard at 1:30 p.m. while Kleiman will face Stavros Hadjivarnava of Rider at the same time. Paul will round out Lehigh's players starting at 1:30 p.m. with a singles bout against Ryota Kaneda of St. John's.

Bezianis and Morash will begin their singles tournaments at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Bezianis is scheduled to face Saint Francis' Gregory Troyan while Morash will take on Finn Macnamara of Buffalo.

On the doubles side, Lehigh's pairings will consist of Marc Blekhman/Matt Kleiman and Aristotelis Bezianis/Jackson Morash. Doubles play will begin prior to singles, as Blekhman/Kleiman are scheduled to take on the team of Daniel Osap/Leon Harder from LIU at 9 a.m. on Friday. Bezianis/Morash will begin their doubles tournament against David Krasner/Rodrigo Perez of Wagner at the same time.

Lehigh last competed at their own Hidden Dual on September 23-24. The Mountain Hawks welcomed FDU, Lafayette and Rider to the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center for singles and doubles competition. The Mountain Hawks performed very well on their home courts, winning or drawing every single round of matches against each team.
